“Entremet”, the layer cake windchime features an antique silver plated cake server with glass and mother of pearl shell beads. Deconstructed antique silver plated spoon handles make a quiet chiming sound. And there’s an antique cake fork to make it even yummier!
“Forget Me Not” is a whimsical windchime. I don’t know the origin of the metal flower but it is very lightweight so this piece moves a lot in the wind. I added contemporary blue and clear beads including tiny flowers reminiscent of forget-me-nots. Deconstructed antique silver spoon handles and bowls make this chime sing.
A vintage napkin holder and antique soup spoons were deconstructed to create this piece. They are suspended by strands of opaque and clear beads in rich wine tones. Five flattened spoon bowls make a sonorous clang.
Three small vintage goblets with a grape motif hang from green beads on driftwood.
“Hot Spots” sparkles with turquoise coloured and clear beads. Souvenir spoons from hot spots in Hawaii and Australia hang from driftwood and make a tinkling sound.
“Mariposa”. A vintage brass butterfly trivet sparkles with beads in shades of purples and gold. Deconstructed gold toned spoon bowls make a sonorous chime.
“Medusa” is a stylized jellyfish crafted from an openwork brass bowl. Wooden Indian beads give it silver and gold tones, glass beads & crystals make it sparkle and the bells make it sing.
“Octopus’ Garden” is a funky metal basket suspended on strands of glass and mother of pearl beads. Eight tentacles of blue and pearl toned beads and shells extend to vintage silver serving pieces below, creating a delightful clamor.
A vintage silver-plated gravy boat overflows with cobalt and clear beads. I deconstructed five antique silver plated spoons to create the chimes. The beads beveled edges make “Overflow” twinkle and the spoon bowls make it tinkle.
“Papillon” is a butterfly-shaped tea trivet with beads in vibrant shades of pink. Five flattened antique silver-plated spoons have been deconstructed to create the chimes clappers. I made this piece during the Paris Olympics so gave it a French name. Et voila!
“Parliament of Purple” is an owl-themed windchime. Beaded strands of purple and clear glass hang from an antique silver vessel. Sweet purple owl beads form a parliament of owls. Five antique silver plated spoons have been flattened to give this chime its’ tinkling sound. Four of the spoons are of the pattern ‘Proposal’.
An antique crystal doorknob set and door plate with 5 old skeleton keys and teal beads. I wanted “Passagem” to evoke an air of mystery, of a secret passageway or clandestine meeting.
